Celebrate accomplishments by ringing a gong! This extension allows you to place a gong object that anyone can interactive with to play a gong sound for everyone in the office to hear. 

The gong noise will sound for everyone online and Available in your space, including if they're in the middle of a meeting. If someone has their Status set to Do Not Disturb, they will not hear it.

Enable / Disable the Gong Extension

To enable/disable the Gong Extension, you need to have access to the Mapmaker. You can review user roles and permissions here. 

To enable the Gong extension: 

1. Click Customize in the bottom navigation bar (the hammer icon) and then click Open Mapmaker at the top. 
2. In the Mapmaker, expand the menu at the top left and click Extension Settings.
3. Select Gong, click Activate Extension, and then Apply Changes.
4. To place a Gong, click More Objects and scroll on the left to the Gong category. 
5. Select the Gong object and click to place it on your map. 
6. Click Save at the top when you're done. 

To disable the Gong extension: 

1. Click Customize in the bottom navigation bar (the hammer icon) and then click Open Mapmaker at the top. 
2. In the Mapmaker, expand the menu at the top left and click Extension Settings.
3. Select Gong, click Deactivate Extension, and then Apply Changes.
4. In the Mapmaker, select the Eraser tool and click the gong on the map to delete it. 
5. Click Save at the top when you're done. 

Using the Gong

To ring the gong, walk your avatar next to it and press 'x' on your keyboard. The noise will sound immediately for everyone Available in your space. 

Because everyone will hear it, we recommend establishing team guidelines around who can ring the gong and when.

Ideas include: 

• Members of the sales team when they close a deal
• Product managers or engineering leads when a new feature is launched
• Members of the leadership team when a company goal or OKR is achieved
• New hires at the end of their first day
• During All Hands or special team-wide announcements
